What sort of motorcycles do you rent and how much are they?

I have a car driving license. Can I use it to rent a bike?
No. In most countries you need to pass a motorcycle test to be allowed to ride a motorbike of over 125cc. To rent a motorbike from us your license (issued in the country in which you live) must allow you to ride a motorcycle of 800cc or 1200cc depending on which of our bikes you rent. You must also have held this license for a minimum of two years.
-
Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the daily cost of your motorcycle rental. This covers all of Ireland and is all you will need for riding the bike. We advise that you take out your own Travel Insurance in addition to this and check that it covers you for riding a motorcycle.
-
Damage excess is £1250. This amount will be reserved on your credit card when you collect your motorcycle. In the event of the motorbike being damaged or stolen that will be the maximum cost to you.
-
Can I ride the motorcycle offroad or on a racetrack?
No. It is strictly prohibited to use the motorcycle for any non-asphalt riding or on a racetrack. There is no insurance cover for using the motorcycles offroad or for racetrack riding. In the event of one of our motorcycles being used in these ways you would be liable for all costs.
-
We charge rental per day. That means rental is charged for each calendar day you have a motorbike, for example if you collect a bike on Tuesday and return it on Friday you will be charged for 4 days.
-
Yes, to secure your booking you need to pay a 25% deposit. Once you have booked we will give you several ways to pay, for example by credit card, bank transfer or PayPal. It is a legal requirement to wear a helmet in Ireland so that's the minimum. We find most people want to bring their own protective gear. Clothing is at your discretion but we do suggest you wear motorcycle protective clothing such as jacket, trousers, boots and gloves.

No, you can do as many miles as you want.
-
That depends on how much you want to see but on average around 100-150 miles per day. Part of the fun of motorcycling in Ireland is taking the scenic route from A to B rather than racing along motorways.
-
That is a very rare event but all our rental motorcycles are covered by 24hr breakdown and recovery service. If the motorbike can't be repaired at the roadside you will be taken to that day's destination and we will then replace the motorcycle.
-
No, travel insurance is not included but we strongly recommend you arrange adequate cover for your trip and we suggest you check it covers you for riding a motorcycle as some policies do not.
-
We drive on the left side of the road in Ireland.

If you guys drive on the left, does that mean the controls on the motorcycles are reversed?

Thankfully no! Motorcycles all over the world have the controls on the same sides. Clutch on the left, brake on the right.

What's the difference between the North and South of Ireland?
The island of Ireland is made up of two countries. The 'North' or Northern Ireland, capital Belfast, is part of the United Kingdom. Hence the currency is British Pounds, distances are given in miles and speed limits in miles per hour. The 'South' or Republic of Ireland, capital Dublin, is an independent country whose currency is the Euro and where kilometres are used for measuring speed and distance. However, you can cross from one to the other without noticing as there are no border controls and we all drive on the left!. We have used the term Ireland to refer to the island as a whole, incorporating both countries. We highly recommend that you try to include North and South in your holiday to fully appreciate the beauty of Ireland.
