is a great self guided motorbike tour for those who are tight for time, taking in the best of Northern Ireland and neighbouring County Donegal. This is a part of the island that offers unique and beautiful scenery but is sadly often missed by visitors. Including the Causeway Coastal Route, the Inishowen Peninsula, Glenveagh National Park, the Fermanagh Lakelands and the Mountains of Mourne, it's an action packed 3 days. For a taster of this motorbike tour, check out these two videos we made, Causeway Coastal Route and Donegal Route.

About our routes: We have spent many happy hours riding around Ireland to find the very best motorbike roads. They have been refined over three years to produce the daily routes you will find stored on the GPS fitted to each bike.

Day One - Counties Antrim & Londonderry

County Antrim is one of the most beautiful counties in Northern Ireland, with its Irish Sea coast and the majestic Glens of Antrim. Your route takes you along the world famous Causeway Coastal Route which was named one of the 20 best drives in the world. The route hugs the coastline for 100 miles and on a clear day you can see Scotland. Along the way you can stop off at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and test your head for heights, before visiting the Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery. Opened a few years ago in 1608, it is the oldest whiskey distillery in the world. Further along is the Giant's Causeway, a unique rock formation which draws over 700,000 visitors per year. Legend has it that it was built by a giant called Finn MacCool who challenged a Scottish giant to a fight and didn't want his rival to have any excuse not to come.

Day Two - County Donegal

County Donegal is in the far north-west of Ireland and has a unique landscape. It is quite sparsely populated, with empty roads and dramatic scenery. Your route will take you around the Inishowen Peninsula to its very tip, Malin Head. This is Ireland's most northerly point, where the wild Atlantic meets the Irish Sea. Further along you will pass through Glenveagh National Park, which lies in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains. It is a remote and hauntingly beautiful wilderness of rugged mountains and pristine lakes. Further still, you will meet the wild Atlantic coast where, in Winter, huge waves driven by Atlantic storms pound the shore . This coast has miles of golden beaches which are totally deserted. If you have a head for heights, you can visit the Slieve League Sea Cliffs, the highest in Europe. Then go for a spin on exciting, twisty roads through the Blue Stack Mountains .

Day Three - Counties Fermanagh, Armagh & Down

The Fermanagh lakelands are a must see.

Your route will take you along the shores of Lough Erne with its 154 Islands and pre-Christian settlements. Fermanagh is a lush, green county with some great roads and lots to see. Then on to County Down which is the home county of Irish Motorcycle Adventures so it's the one we love best! The Mourne Mountains, made famous by the song 'Where the Mountains of Mourne Sweep Down To The Sea', are on the route. You will travel along the shores of Strangford Lough, a tidal sea lough with 365 islands and an abundance of wildlife. County Down is another lush, green county with rich agricultural land. With small fields bounded by hedges, it's a beautiful place to meander along the back roads taking in the scenery.
